MY PICK FOR THE MONTH
(A really long month that lasts until I find another book to write about.)

A classic and one of the greatest books of all time, 1984 by George Orwell is a dystopian fiction novel published in 1949. Living in a time still bleeding from the wounds of World War 2, Orwell warns readers of the dangers of totalitarianism as he sees it through leaders like Stalin and Hitler. The novel's genius stems from Orwell's foresight of modern life—the pervasiveness of television, the distortion of language—as well as his ability to create such a comprehensive picture of hell. In my opinion, it is definitely one of the most horrifying novels ever written. Big Brother is watching you...
